Projeto FCT - PolSci&Tech
Focusing on 'Police science and technology - past, present and future', this project aims to carry out a cross-cutting analysis on technologies in PSP - in the police mission, and in the support activities.
In fact, the world has become technological and in the face of this irreversibility there is an interdependence between society and its use. The circulation of information, the new ways of leveraging criminal deviant behaviours, instil in the security forces the need to incorporate technologies capable of accelerating processes and of facing criminality, and at the same time, provide the community with quality services with effectiveness and efficiency. In this scenario, and as far as the PSP is concerned, the aim is to collect and systematise information on all technological initiatives, projects and implementations carried out, essentially from a descriptive perspective, in terms of usefulness, response and adaptation. The aim is also to prospect the future of technologies in the PSP, namely based on an international analysis. Finally, and in a technological context of constant change, the intention is to address the teaching and training of ICTs in the Police Force.
